Band, Orchestra and/or Choir

If you are a musician and learn better in an online environment, you can attend NOVA and still participate in Band, Orchestra and/or Choir! As an online school, we do not currently have NOVA-specific bands or ensembles. (Maybe someday!). Students wishing to participate in music programs will do so at the Middle/High School in which boundaries they reside. Students must also physically attend the associated course in the building at the appropriate time. 

For example:  If Student “A” attends NOVA and lives in the West Middle School boundaries, she would need to join the West Middle School band.  She would not be eligible to play for the South Middle School band. Student “A” would also need to attend the West middle school band class in the building at the appropriate time daily in order to maintain the class and be a part of the band.

NOVA student musicians will be held to the same academic eligibility standards and team rules as all other participants. NOVA student musicians will also be held to the IHSAA Rules and eligibility criteria.
