Secondary ELA (English Language Arts) Teacher

Mrs. Tanberg is one of two secondary ELA teachers for Nampa Online Virtual Academy (NOVA) and starting her 35th year of teaching. She is a 5-year veteran of Skyview High School, 17 years teaching at the teen parent program: Nampa Teen Parent / Scism / Parkview High School, one year at Nampa High School and three at Parma High School. Prior to her and her husband moving to Idaho from their native Montana, Mrs. Tanberg taught in small and medium schools in various towns in Montana.  

 

Mrs. Tanberg attended Montana State University in Bozeman; where she joined a literature class in helping to coordinate the 1979 celebration of the solar eclipse. Years later she graduated from the University of Montana / Missoula with a B. A. in English Literature and a minor in Political Science. She became a certified teacher / librarian instead of a Senator.

Michelle and husband Brad moved to Idaho over 25 years ago to contribute to the urban sprawl and raise a family.  They have a college graduate daughter and one high school senior.  Idaho activities include the GFWC Boise Columbian Club, Nampa Education Association, supporting her daughters' in their stringed instruments, and skiing at Bogus!
