Stephanie Higgins - PE & Math Teacher
Stephanie has been teaching in the Nampa School District for a collective 10 years. This is her 4th year teaching Math and PE at NOVA. She previously spent 3 years with the amazing students and staff at Iowa Elementary as the PE teacher and 5 years at Skyview High School teaching in the PE department. Stephanie loves coaching and has coached cheer and dance at both Nampa High and Skyview High School. She is the current head coach of the Nampa Dance Unleashed Dance Team at Nampa High.
Stephanie graduated from BYU earning a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance with her focus being Composite Dance. Not knowing she would love teaching in the public schools so much, she later received her teaching certification online. She later added Math to her teaching endorsements and has enjoyed working with NOVA’s 7th and 8th grade students to improve their Math skills.
Fun facts about Coach Higgins:
- I have been married for 23 years to a guy who takes me on fun “business” trips as he works with many NFL Players doing their Financial Planning.
- I have 4 kids- 2 girls and 2 boys. In 2 years they will all be high school graduates and I will be an empty nester.
- I was a dancer for the Utah Jazz NBA Basketball Team.
- I also danced for the CBA Team Idaho Stampede, Hot Shots and the Idaho Steelheads Hockey Team.
- I danced in the Hit TV Series Touched By An Angel. This was a fun job!
- During the COVID quarantine in the summer of 2020, I ran and biked a total of 818.59 miles winning a virtual race in my age group. It was HARD!
- I enjoy doing choreography for anyone who needs it- especially theater groups!
- My favorite color is red and I absolutely love eating plain lightly salted popcorn with a bottle of Martinelli’s while watching scary movies!
