Middle School Science Teacher

Mrs. Garcia is the middle school science teacher for Nampa Online Virtual Academy. She has worked for the Nampa School District the last 10 years as an 8th grade science teacher, technology instructional coach, science lead, Technology integrator, energy champion, junior varsity volleyball coach, varsity volleyball assistant coach, track coach, basketball coach, science club, and gardening club director. She also served as a member of the science curriculum and instruction committee. 
Mrs. Garcia attended the College of Idaho on a full volleyball scholarship where she was a 4-year letter winner. She earned a bachelor's degree from the college in 2012. She majored in biology and minored in art, elementary education, and as a reading specialist. She is finishing her master's degree in the art of teaching, specializing in English as a second language, also from the College of Idaho.

Some fun facts about Mrs. Garcia:
  • She has been wonderfully married for 6 years, although she met her husband in middle school.
  • She is the proud mother of two boys.
  • She served on two different mission trips to Matagalpa, Nicaragua and Ensenada, Mexico. 
  • As a middle schooler (11 years old), she competed in the Junior Olympics for volleyball, against teams from Puerto Rico, China, and Japan.
